Some Let's Go Luna Designs/Stills (Season 2 )

Back in May, PBS Kids aired 6 episodes I boarded on from season 2 of Let’s Go Luna: “Big Little Trouble“, “Volcano Boy”, “Gaja’s Birthday”, “Give Me a Sign”, “Muddy Miracle” and “Fabuloso’s New Clothes”. I figured I’d share some of my favorite designs/stills that made it into the episodes…

Episode: Big Little Trouble

I got to help with the initial design of our guest character Gunnar, an Icelandic arctic fox in “Big Little Trouble“. I did the first pass and sent it to Joe Murray who finalized it.

This was one of my favorite poses from that sequence. Originally in the outline it said that they needed to move the Circo in a cartoony way, so I thought a helicopter would be fun to work with.

Episode: Volcano Boy

Leo was always fun to board, especially when I got to dress him up in little swimmies.

Normally when we introduced Luna into the episodes, we would try to have her show up in an interesting or funny way… This was one of those ideas I got like 10 minutes before I pitched it because I needed to make her entrance more memorable. I knew we were talking about volcanos in Iceland and I was like, “what if they think a volcano is gonna blow but really it’s Luna with a volcano strawberry slushie hat.” I knew it was really random and my board partner Keith and I didn’t know if it would land but Joe ended up liked it and it made it into the episode.

Episode: Gaja’s Birthday

In this episode, Fabuloso had a flashback to his childhood birthday party and I REALLY wanted to draw what his parents looked like.

This was one of my favorite Fabuloso poses.

Episode: Give Me A Sign

In this episode I designed Luna’s sweet hair.

I drew up the design for the painted sign and I love how colorful it came out. The background artists on this show were amazing.

Episode: Muddy Miracle

If you know me then you know how much I love food and food-themed things… If I could sneak some food into the episodes I would i.e. Fabuloso’s casual clothes for his day off.
